France vs Morocco Results: Les Bleus Win 2-0, Meet Argentina in the Final!

 


France will face Argentina in the 2022 World Cup final. This was confirmed after France beat Morocco. The France vs. Morocco match was created in the semifinals of the 2022 World Cup at Al Bayt Stadium, Al Khor, Qatar, on Thursday, December 15, 2022. 

The France vs. Morocco match ended with a score of 2-0. France won thanks to two goals scored by Theo Hernandez in the fifth minute and Randal Kolo Muani (79'). 

This result ensures that France, who is the defending champion, will qualify for the final and will face Argentina, who first advanced to the final after winning 3-0 over Croatia.

The course of the match



The French national team scored a quick goal in the fifth minute through Theo Hernandez's acrobatic goal. 

The opening goal for the team nicknamed Les Bleus was scored by Theo Hernandez, who managed to take advantage of the turbulent situation in front of the Moroccan goal.

 Based on Opta data, this is the fastest goal ever scored in a World Cup semifinal since the 1958 edition. At that time, Brazilian player Vava scored within two minutes against France.

This goal also made Theo Hernandez the first player from the opposite side to score against Morocco at the 2022 World Cup.

Previously, Morocco had only conceded once since the group phase, and that was because of an own goal from their own player, Nayef Aguerd. Morocco got a golden opportunity to equalize through the action of Jawad El Yamiq in the 45th minute.

The ball headed for Jawad El Yamiq, who had his back to the French goal. He took an acrobatic kick, but his shot hit the goal post.

Theo Hernandez's goal was not reciprocated until the first half was over. France temporarily won 1-0 over Morocco. Morocco threatened in the 53rd minute. Sofiane Boufal found space and beat Raphael Varane to a cross in the box. 

The ball goes to Youssed En-Enesyri, who is in front of the French goal. However, Ibrahima Konate managed to get rid of the round skin before it reached En-Enesyri's feet. Randal Kolo Muani, who was only played in the 79th minute to replace Ousmane Dembele, immediately made an instant impact on the French national team. He managed to score a goal and give France a 2-0 lead over Morocco a few seconds after coming onto the field. 

Muani's goal started with a break by Kylian Mbappe, who broke into the Moroccan penalty box and fired a shot. Mbappe's shot was blocked, but the ball rolled to Muani, who stood free on the right side of the Moroccan penalty box and struck the ball straight into the net for the team nicknamed the Atlas Lions.

No goals were scored in the remaining matches. France managed to maintain their advantage and won 2-0 over Morocco.
